Trust Fund
Upon the establishment of the Commission, a trust account was created to receive funds from individuals, municipal corporations, provincial governments and other sources. The purpose of this initiative is to acquire and preserve Québec’s major historic battlefields. Since September 1984, the trust account has been administered in accordance with section 9.1 of the National Battlefields at Quebec Act, which provides that the funds be used for the purposes for which the amounts received were made available to the Commission. Revenues and expenses are included in the Statement of Operations and Departmental Net Financial Position in the Commission’s annual financial statements, available on the institutional website of the National Battlefileds Commission.
