Since 1908, the National Battlefields Commission (NBC), an agency of the federal government, has had a mandate to conserve and promote the Battlefields Park. This rallying site par excellence in Québec City includes the Plains of Abraham and Des Braves Park.
As guardians of this historic urban park and its unique heritage, NBC employees work to make it a welcoming, inspiring, and inclusive space. Many activities (exhibits, special events, commemorative events) are offered to an incredibly diverse clientele from all walks of life.
Primary Activities
- Guide groups to encourage discovery, understanding, and appreciation of the historical themes relating to the site and the Commission
- Play the role of numerous historical characters in exciting and diverse activities (ghost walks, battle re-enactments, military competitions, roleplay, etc
Employee Profile
- Knowledge of Canadian history
- Enrolled in a recognized university or have a diploma
- Valid driver’s licence (Mandatory)
- Experience with leading groups, education, or interpretation (Mandatory)
- Excellent spoken French and English skills (Mandatory)
- Willingness to work the assigned position
- Good teamwork skills
Employment Conditions
- Paid training: 70 hours starting in May
- Option for days off during summer
- Option for part-time work from September 2026 to April 2027 based on your availabilities with regard to your school schedule. Work-study balance: we will adapt to your schedule. Give us your availabilities and we will offer you hours based on our needs
