National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a time to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, and their families and communities.
In 2024, the National Battlefields Commission inaugurated a space for dialogue on Cap Diamant, showcasing two monumental works by First Nations artists.
To mark this day of commemoration, take part in a guided tour of this meaningful space. Accompanied by a guide from the National Battlefields Commission, discover the sculptures by Wendat artist Ludovic Boney and Haida artist 7IDANsuu (Chief James Hart).
Throughout the tour, explore the meaning and symbolism of the works and the dialogue they create between cultures and territories, from east to west, through art.
