Job Opportunity
Reporting to the operations coordinator, the horticulturist is responsible for maintaining the beauty of the site. The successful candidate will demonstrate a combination of relevant experience and training.
Primary Activities
- Propagation (cuttings, seedlings, transplants, division); greenhouse and hotbeds.
- Watering and fertilization of greenhouse and nursery plants.
- Preparation of flowerbeds at the start and end of the season.
- Planting of annuals, perennials, bulbs, shrubs, and trees.
- For all plants: weeding, pruning, soil amendments.
- Pruning of shrubs and trees, branch chipping.
- Planting, pruning, and maintenance of topiary structures (mosaicultures).
- Selection of plants for landscaping.
- Plant health, irrigation (weekdays and weekends), monitoring.
- Inspection and identification of insects and diseases that may harm the plants.
- Autumn-related work, winter closure of facilities.
- Application of occupational health and safety regulations.
Employee Profile
- Knowledge of ornamental plants (trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, etc.), how to cultivate them, and associated tasks.
- College degree or diploma of vocational studies in ornamental horticulture and/or at least two years’ experience in the field and/or equivalent relevant experience and training.
- Landscape design and execution is an asset.
- Knowledge of or interest in mosaiculture is an asset.
- WHMIS training is an asset.
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence.
- Tractor driving experience is an asset.
- Physical ability (able to lift over 50 lbs).
- Love of working outside, alone or with a team.
- Positive and communicative attitude.
- Well-developed sense of teamwork.
- Creative and an eye for a job well done.
- Good judgement, cautious, responsible, and reliable.
- Independent, resourceful, flexible.
- Works safely and prudently.
Employment Conditions
- 40 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday from April 7 to April 10.
- Wednesday to Sunday from April 15 to June 28.
- Monday to Friday until the end of season.
- Salary ranges from $28,41 to $30,87 per hour.
- Option to join health insurance plan, dental insurance plan, pension fund.

- Job begins April 2026.
